Don’t be intimidated by the homemade aspect of these DIY soap bar cloths. Learning how to make them is easy. They are probably the simplest thing you could sew. It’s very simple and very forgiving as most of the seams are hidden using whip stitch (also known as invisible stitch, or ladder stitch).

Materials:
  • Washcloth (or terrycloth fabric) – you will need roughly a 12×12 piece.
  • Needle and thread (or sewing machine)
Hand Towel
Directions:
  1. Fold the material into half (should look like a rectangle).
  2. Sew three sides of the material, leaving one side. Turn the bag right side out.
  3. You can sew on a bias tape loop for ease of hanging (optional). And that’s it!

How To Use

Insert solid skin or hair care bar into finished soap bar cloth and use as you would a loofah. Hang and allow to dry between uses.
